On July 9, 1993, Parliament passed the Nunavut Land Claims Agreement Act and the Nunavut Act, creating the territory of Nunavut. Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated coordinates and manages Inuit responsibilities set out in the Nunavut Agreement and ensures that the federal and territorial governments fulfill their obligations.
